Southern Water dug up the ground on the corner to fix a water pipe and left a large area of bare earth and mounds! This is what is growing there now! Although it is a garden variety, it is, in effect, growing wild.

It is not the similar coloured Field Pansy (V. arvensis) as that has much smaller and less showy flowers with dark markings on the lower lip.
